The former Chelsea FC legend & coach, Frank Lampard is said to be one of the names in the running to replace Roy Hodgson as Crystal Palace manager, and the former Derby boss has been told why it would be a good move.
With Roy Hodgson stepping away from the club at the end of his current contract this summer, Palace have an important role to fill at the top of the first team.
Former Liverpool star John Barnes says that taking the Crystal Palace manager job would be “a good move” for Frank Lampard.
With the club coming to an important crossroads in their history, Barnes says that the role would allow Lampard to grow and rehabilitate his career after being sacked as Chelsea manager this season.
The former Liverpool FC star mentioned that “Crystal Palace would be a good job for him. It’s a Premier League club, good owners, good chairman, supportive, good players with what he has.
He added, “Expectations won’t grow to be ‘top four’, but if Palace get mid-table for him to rehabilitate his career, a top six club isn’t going to come for him now, so I think it’ll be a good move for him.
“They have the type of football he wants to play, so I think it’ll be a good move, definitely.”
