The annual Reputable Banks and Fintech Awards & Conference for 2022 took place at Radisson Red in Glasgow, United Kingdom, spanning from June 28th to June 30th, 2022.
The RBFA award and conference, organised by Reputation Poll International, a distinguished global reputation-management firm renowned for its yearly ranking of the 100 most reputable individuals and top bank CEOs worldwide, is crafted to recognize the swift expansion, integration, accelerated growth, and reforms within Africa’s banking and fintech sector. It evaluates these advancements based on criteria such as excellence, integrity, reliability, expertise, technology, and accessibility to credit, enabling banks to achieve remarkable levels of performance.
In conjunction with feedback from the public and customers, the RBFA recognized and celebrated exceptional banks, fintech institutions, and individuals contributing to the rapid evolution of Africa’s banking and fintech sector.
The 2022 RBFA conference showcased a diverse array of discussions and debates led by esteemed facilitators hailing from Africa and Europe. They shared both theoretical insights and practical experiences, offering guidance on fostering collaboration across various sectors to advance financial inclusion.
Among the speakers at the event were David Smith from the United Kingdom, serving as the Chairman of the British African Business Alliance; Dr. Walton E. Gilpin from Sierra Leone, acting as the Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank; Dr. Dauda Lawal from Nigeria, holding the position of Executive Vice Chairman at Credent Capital and Advisory Limited, and previously serving as the Executive Director of Public Sector GroupFirst Nigeria Limited; and Beldina Auma, the former chair of the World Bank Group-IMF African Society.
Several individuals were honored with awards, including Dr. Dauda Lawal, who received the Lifetime Achievers Award; David Smith, recognized with the Business Excellence Award; Dr. Azeez Oyedele, lauded for Academic Excellence in Fintech; Dr. Patrick Ngugi Njoroge, honored as the Central Bank Governor of the Year; and Kelechi Anyikude, acknowledged as the Fintech Marketing Leader of the Year.
Institutions such as Mobipay (Namibia), Rokel Commercial Bank (Sierra Leone), Cloud Bank (Nigeria), Bank of Namibia (Central Bank of Namibia), Transact Swift (Nigeria), and TipMe (Liberia) were each honored with excellence awards.
Furthermore, the conference and awards ceremony provided an opportunity for networking among banking and fintech executives in attendance.
